The Opportunity

Are you an organised and detail-oriented administration professional with a passion for finance and delivering high-quality support? Thiess is seeking an experienced and motivated Finance Administrator to join our high-performing team at the Curragh North Open Cut Project in Blackwater.

As a key member of the project team, you'll provide administrative and functional support to the Finance & Administration team, helping to ensure financial processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.

Roster: 5/2, 4/3 (9-day fortnight) | Location: Blackwater QLD | Employment Type: Full Time

As the Finance Administrator, you will:

  • Prepare purchase requests in JDE and generate purchase orders.
  • Process and reconcile invoices for payment in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain accounts payable processes, including workflow management, goods received not vouchered, and open order reconciliation.
  • Prepare month-end accruals and journals as required.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance & Administration team.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across the business.
  • Support the Finance & Administration Manager to achieve project and business objectives.

About you

You'll bring:

  • High-level organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong numerical skills and understanding of procure-to-pay processes.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience with JDE financial systems (highly regarded).
  • Previous experience in the mining, resources, construction, or related industries (highly regarded).
  • A commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
