A major gold mining operation requires an underground Mining Engineer
A well-established gold mining operator with a strong presence in Western Australia, operating high-grade underground assets and delivering consistent production performance. With continued investment in mine life extension and development, they are seeking an experienced Underground Mining Engineer to support ongoing operations and optimisation initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Short- to medium-term mine planning (weekly and monthly schedules)
- Drill and blast design, stope design, and optimisation of production activities
- Coordination with geology and operations teams to maximise ore recovery and minimise dilution
- Monitoring development and stoping performance against plan
- Ventilation planning and input into underground infrastructure requirements
- Conducting site inspections and providing technical support to underground crews
- Tracking and reporting production metrics, costs, and KPIs
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities across safety, productivity, and cost
To be considered, you will bring:
- Proven experience as a Mining Engineer in underground gold operations (essential)
- Strong technical capability across development and stoping environments
- Experience with mine planning software (e.g. Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac or similar)
- Solid understanding of drill & blast, ground support, and ventilation principles
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with operations teams
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline
- Ability to work FIFO and operate in a fast-paced production environment
