An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Avionics Technician to join a highly specialised defence and aerospace maintenance organisation based at Brisbane Airport.This is not a traditional aircraft line maintenance role. In this role, you will work within a dedicated workshop environment, performing component-level repair, diagnosis and overhaul of sophisticated avionics and electronic equipment.

Key responsibilities
Repair, overhaul and fault diagnosis of aircraft electronic and electromechanical components within a highly regulated maintenance environment. Component-level PCB fault-finding and repair BGA component removal, replacement and rework Electronic testing and diagnosis using specialist bench equipment X-ray inspection and verification of repaired assemblies Interpretation of wiring diagrams, schematics and technical manuals Completion of technical service reports and maintenance documentation Supporting quality, regulatory and safety compliance requirements Working collaboratively within a specialised workshop environment supporting defence aviation programmesWhat you'll need to succeed
Proven experience in avionics, aerospace electronics repair, defence maintenance, or a similar technical environment.Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills at component and PCB level.Experience with BGA rework, component replacement, and electronic repair techniques will be highly regarded.Ability to interpret electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.Experience working with electronic test and diagnostic equipment.A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to quality workmanship.Experience working in regulated, quality-driven environments.Familiarity with defence, aerospace, aviation, or advanced manufacturing industries.J-STD-001, IPC-7711/7721, Certificate IV Aeroskills (Avionics), or equivalent qualifications highly regarded.Australian Citizenship
