APS3 Participant Support Officer – Full-Time – Multiple NSW Locations
$38.89 per hour + super | Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm | Contract to December 2027

DFP Recruitment is seeking experienced and compassionate Participant Support Officers to join a large Federal Government agency across several NSW locations.

While this advertisement is listed in Coffs Harbour, vacancies are also available in other regional and metropolitan offices. If you are not based near Coffs Harbour, you may still be eligible for one of the other locations.

The opportunity:

  • APS3 Participant Support Officer
  • $38.89 per hour plus super
  • Full-time hours only
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
  • ASAP commencement, subject to pre-employment checks
  • 12-month+ Contract through to 31 December 2027
  • Potential extension subject to business requirements

Please note: These are full-time positions only. Applicants must be available to work Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Part-time hours are not available.

About the role

As a Participant Support Officer, you will provide professional, respectful and timely support to customers and stakeholders. You will respond to enquiries, assist people to understand processes and requirements, maintain accurate records and complete administrative activities in line with established procedures.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing high-quality customer service through telephone, written and face-to-face channels
  • Responding to general enquiries and explaining information clearly
  • Supporting customers experiencing sensitive or challenging circumstances
  • Completing administrative and data-entry activities accurately
  • Maintaining confidential customer information and records
  • Using internal systems to process requests and update information
  • Managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines and service standards
  • Escalating complex matters in accordance with established procedures
  • Working collaboratively within a busy and changing service-delivery environment

About youTo be considered, you will ideally demonstrate:

  • Experience in customer service, service delivery, administration or the disability sector
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Empathy, patience and professionalism when handling sensitive conversations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse customers
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and adhere to schedules
  • Confidence learning and using different systems
  • Adaptability and the ability to work effectively in a changing environment
  • Australian citizenship is strongly preferred in line with the agency’s eligibility requirements
  • Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm

The successful candidates will be required to complete relevant pre-employment checks, which may include a National Criminal History Records Check, an NDIS Worker Screening Check and referee checks.
