Payroll Officer TP Human Capital
- Support accurate and timely processing of fortnightly payroll for a large workforce.

TP Human Capital is currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a well-established organisation in Townsville. Working alongside the Payroll Coordinator, you will support the accurate and timely processing of fortnightly payroll for a large workforce. The role will also contribute to payroll reporting, process improvements and providing payroll advice to staff and managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and maintain accurate payroll data in conjunction with an outsourced payroll provider.
- Ensure payroll transactions comply with relevant awards, enterprise agreements, policies and legislation.
- Validate contracts, pay rates, leave entitlements and termination payments.
- Investigate and resolve payroll and HR system issues, escalating where required.
- Provide payroll advice and support to employees, managers and other stakeholders.
- Assist with award calculations, annualised salaries and leave entitlements.
- Respond to payroll-related enquiries from employees and external authorities.
- Contribute to process improvements, documentation and payroll reporting.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in payroll administration, ideally within a larger or multi-disciplinary organisation.
- Strong knowledge of awards, enterprise agreements and payroll legislation.
- Excellent attention to detail with an analytical and methodical approach.
- The ability to identify and resolve payroll issues and provide accurate advice.
- Strong computer skills, including spreadsheets, reporting and data analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- The ability to manage confidential information and work both independently and as part of a team.
