JB Hi-Fi Limited, a listed ASX 100 company, is Australia’s leading retailer of technology, consumer electronics and home appliances. Operating from stores throughout Australia and New Zealand, the Group comprises the retail businesses of JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys and E&S. The Group holds significant market share in many of its product categories and sells televisions, audio equipment, computers, tablets, cameras, telecommunications products and services, whitegoods, cooking products, bathroom products, heating/cooling products, small appliances and software (music, movies and games). The Group also provides information technology and consulting services.

In this role, the primary focus will be to advise on the legal issues arising in the businesses, including reviewing promotional/marketing campaigns, managing privacy complaints/issues, advising on Australian Consumer Law issues, contract drafting and negotiation, managing regulatory issues & compliance with relevant legislation, drafting legal and operational policies and procedures, and delivering in-house legal training programs.

The ideal candidate offers quality post qualification experience (3-6 PQE), preferably with some time spent in a major firm. We are looking for a candidate who is driven, has excellent communication skills, is able to work on matters with limited supervision and develop relationships with business stakeholders. Experience in general commercial law is preferable. The position requires an eye for technical detail but also the ability to provide legal advice in a commercial context.
