Metal Fabricator Wanted

Austin Truck Bodies Derrimut Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and reliable Metal Fabricator to join our team in Derrimut, Victoria. The successful candidate will assist with manufacturing, assembling, modifying and repairing truck bodies and associated metal components.

Key responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and measurements.
• Mark out, cut, shape, bend and form metal components.
• Fabricate and assemble truck bodies, frames, panels and related components.
• Perform MIG, TIG and other welding as required.
• Use hand tools, power tools and fabrication machinery safely.
• Inspect completed work to ensure correct dimensions and quality standards.
• Repair and modify damaged or existing truck body components.
• Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.

Requirements:

• Relevant trade qualification in engineering fabrication or a related field.
• Previous experience as a Metal Fabricator or in a similar role.
• Strong welding, measuring and fabrication skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid Australian driver licence is desirable.
