Tradewind Australia is recruiting a passionate Men's Healing & Support Worker to join a Family Violence team in Lilydale.

This is an Aboriginal Identified position, supporting Aboriginal men to promote healing, accountability and non-violence, while keeping the safety and wellbeing of women and children at the centre of all practice. ❀️

πŸͺΆ About the Role

Working within a culturally grounded framework, you will support Aboriginal men to understand and address the underlying factors contributing to their use of family violence and work towards making safer choices.

You will:

  • 🀝 Provide culturally grounded case management and support to Aboriginal men
  • πŸ›‘οΈ Undertake family violence risk assessment and safety planning
  • πŸ”„ Participate in collaborative risk management and appropriate treatment interventions
  • 🌱 Support men to address behaviours and underlying factors contributing to family violence
  • πŸ’ͺ Promote healing, accountability and non-violence
  • 🏑 Work with men to strengthen stability across different areas of their lives
  • πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ Keep the safety and wellbeing of women and children central to all practice
  • 🀝 Build strong relationships with clients and work collaboratively with other services and stakeholders
  • πŸš— Undertake outreach as required

The role is primarily onsite at the Lilydale office, with outreach required

✨ About You

We're looking for someone who brings a strong combination of cultural knowledge, relationship-building skills and family violence expertise.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working with men experiencing or using family violence
  • Experience in case management, family violence, counselling, behavioural change or a related field
  • 🌿 Strong Aboriginal cultural knowledge and a culturally grounded approach
  • πŸ›‘οΈ Understanding of family violence risk assessment, safety planning and risk management
  • A strengths-based, trauma-informed and non-judgemental approach
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills
  • The ability to support accountability while maintaining strong, respectful relationships
  • ❀️ A genuine commitment to improving the safety of Aboriginal women and children
