Looking to take the next step in your underwriting career? We’re working with a specialist motor underwriting agency based in Melbourne’s inner western suburbs that is looking to expand its team with one or two new hires.
Whether you’re an experienced Underwriter who enjoys building broker relationships or an Assistant Underwriter looking to develop your technical skills, there’s an opportunity to join a specialist team where you can make a genuine contribution.
What you’ll be doing:
- Underwriting motor risks in line with the agency’s appetite, guidelines and authority levels.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers.
- Responding to broker enquiries and providing timely, commercially sound underwriting decisions.
- Assessing risks, reviewing submissions and determining appropriate terms and conditions.
- Identifying opportunities to grow and strengthen the agency’s broker portfolio.
- Working closely with the wider team to deliver a high level of service.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous motor underwriting experience is essential.
- Demonstrated experience dealing directly with brokers OR assisting market facing underwriters
- Strong technical underwriting and risk assessment skills.
- A commercial mindset and the ability to make sound underwriting decisions.
- Someone who enjoys building relationships and taking ownership of their portfolio.
