About Early Childhood Services

The Preschool and Early Childhood Services (PECS) Directorate lead and operates a significant suite of government early childhood services and programs for which the Department for Education is the approved provider under the Education and Early Childhood Regulation and Standards Act.

The Early Childhood Programs unit supports the department’s delivery of a range of early childhood education and care programs and services, including Learning Together Communities playgroups, rural care and support for integrated sites, particularly Children’s Centres for Early Childhood Development and Parenting including sector engagement. 

Learning Together Communities (LTC) provides a network of supported and community playgroups and parent education services for families with children aged birth to five years aiming to increase children’s early literacy, numeracy, development and engagement with learning by supporting families as their children’s first teachers. 

About the Role

The Learning Together Community Manager is a LTC local based leadership position responsible for the outcomes of the LTC program within their Learning Together Community. They provide Learning Together Communities related leadership, support and advice to LTC staff, and work in collaboration with the Program Manager, Playgroups, LTC Program Officer and relevant Local Education Teams and partnerships to deliver LTC programs.

Qualifications

Essential: A tertiary qualification in education and current teacher registration.

Special Conditions

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration

STL2 $143,438 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%)
