The Opportunity
As a Lecturer within a Practical Legal Training (PLT) program, you will deliver engaging and practical legal education that equips graduates with the competencies required of an entry-level lawyer.
Teaching activities may include:
- Workshops and practical skills training
- Face-to-face and online teaching
- Large-group lectures and small-group facilitation
- Webinars and intensive teaching programs
- Oral assessments and practice court activities
- Student mentoring and academic support
- Providing constructive written, audio and verbal feedback to students
You will also contribute to curriculum development, student administration, stakeholder engagement and broader academic initiatives.

About You
You are a practising or former legal practitioner who enjoys mentoring, coaching and developing others. You are passionate about sharing practical legal knowledge and helping graduates successfully transition into practice.
Essential Requirements
- A tertiary qualification in Law
- Eligibility to practise as a lawyer in an Australian jurisdiction
- Minimum 5 years' post-admission legal practice experience in Western Australia
- Strong knowledge of legal practice and professional standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability or strong interest in teaching, coaching or mentoring
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a professional team environment
Desirable
- Experience delivering legal education, training or professional development
- 5-10+ years PAE although more will be considered
- Experience conducting oral assessments or facilitating practical skills workshops
- Teaching qualifications or equivalent adult learning experience
- Experience developing learning and assessment resources
Position Details
- Location: Perth, Western Australia
- Employment Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (2 Years)
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Salary:$155,000 - $175,000 incl super (more for exceptional candidates)
