D4D Engines Australia specialises in the reconditioning and supply of diesel engines, with a focus on Toyota diesel engines. Services include engine rebuilding, machining, assembly, testing and the supply of replacement engines and associated engine components to customers and workshops Australia-wide.

You'll be building complete engines from the ground up, with a strong focus on precision, consistency, and long-term reliability.

We are looking for a Diesel Motor Mechanic for our small business. The Diesel Motor Mechanic will report to the office manager and will be responsible for:

A Diesel Motor Mechanics maintain, test and repair diesel motors and the mechanical parts of trucks, buses and other heavy vehicles such as transmissions, suspension, steering and brakes.

  • detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts
  • dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
  • repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
  • performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
  • reassembling engines and parts after being repaired
  • testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
  • diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers

The job will be full-time, with hours to be worked between 6.30am and 3.00pm Monday to Thursday and 6.30am to 1.00pm Friday.

Successful applicants must have:

  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent qualification
  • at least one year in the industry
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • ability to adjust vehicle components according to specifications;
  • ability to repair defective engines or engine components,
  • install vehicle parts or accessories as well as align equipment or machinery; etc
