About the role:
- Act for life insurers and superannuation trustees on complex claims and coverage disputes
- Run litigated life, TPD and income protection matters across multiple jurisdictions
- Draft sharp, strategic advice on liability, quantum and policy interpretation
- Prepare pleadings, evidence, affidavits and settlement documentation
- Attend mediations, conferences and hearings with real client and counsel contact
- Work closely with partner and senior lawyers on strategy and case management
- Build long term relationships with sophisticated insurer clients
The ideal candidate:
You are either:
- A defendant insurance lawyer from 1 PQE up to Senior Associate with at least 6 months life insurance experience, or
- A standout Graduate with excellent academics and exposure to defendant insurance work
You will also have:
- Strong academic results and a genuine interest in life insurance and superannuation disputes
- Excellent written advocacy and meticulous attention to detail
- Confidence with juggling competing deadlines in a busy disputes practice
- A curious, commercial mindset and a collaborative, team focused approach
