About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Business Support Officer to join a supportive team, within a large Queensland Government Department.
You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of business support functions, coordinating travel arrangements, managing correspondence, maintaining records and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver efficient and high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate travel bookings including flights, accommodation and vehicle hire.
- Manage incoming and outgoing email and phone correspondence.
- Maintain accurate records and update information systems, including Ellipse and Microsoft Office applications.
- Prepare and compile documents, reports, and registers with a high level of accuracy.
- Develop and maintain procedures, manuals, and registers while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise effectively with industry representatives, suppliers, and stakeholders to support service delivery outcomes.
- Provide administrative support to senior staff as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in administration, business support, or customer service environments.
- Experience within government, construction, maintenance, insurance repairs or similar environments is highly regarded.
- Strong proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
- High attention to detail.
- A proactive approach, strong initiative, and willingness to support team objectives.
