The Role

Our Queensland Government client is seeking someone looking for a career within the Department of Housing!

Become part of a high-volume team, within a supportive Housing Service Centre environment. In this position, you will deliver a wide range of applicant, tenancy, and property management services, along with advice to customers with complex needs.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work collaboratively to respond to customers, undertake customer interviews, make referrals to support service agencies, assess new housing and bond loan applications and rental grants. 
  • Manage tenancy arrangements, allocations and vacancies, liaising with the community and other housing providers. 
  • Conduct home visits to properties and investigate and facilitate the resolution of any tenancy disputes and complaints
  • Manage the maintenance of properties and conduct property inspections. 
  • Monitor and manage outstanding arrears, rent assessments, pay deductions and refunds.
  • Maintain accurate customer and property records and file notes with a high level of accuracy and work output. 

You

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong empathy & resilience and have experience in a customer-facing role. You will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience within a high-volume, fast-paced customer service environment such as call centre or face-to-face
  • Previous experience in the community services sector is highly desirable
  • High levels of confidentiality, empathy and resilience when supporting vulnerable customers
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to de-escalate sensitive situations
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced setting with strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
  • A National Criminal History check will be conducted prior to starting
  • A current driver’s licence is required
