A unique opportunity exists for an experienced Systems Engineering or ILS professional to support the delivery of a significant Defence capability program. Working within a multidisciplinary project environment, you will contribute to logistics planning, capability development activities and systems engineering data management that will help shape a future Defence capability.
Your new role
As a Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for developing key logistics and capability artefacts while managing and maintaining a complex systems engineering database. Working closely with project teams, stakeholders and subject matter experts, you will play a critical role in ensuring requirements, logistics considerations and engineering data are effectively captured and managed throughout the capability lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing logistics management plans, specifications and capability documentation
- Supporting capability development activities and project deliverables
- Managing, maintaining and updating systems engineering databases
- Producing database outputs and reports to support project activities
- Drafting procurement and contractual documentation
- Participating in tender evaluation and vendor reviews
- Engaging with Defence, industry and project stakeholders
- Presenting information and recommendations to committees and governance forums
- Supporting systems engineering, logistics and acquisition activities across the broader project team
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An active NV1 security clearance or higher
- Experience in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Systems Engineering, Capability Development or Defence Acquisition environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written communication and technical documentation capability
- Experience working with engineering, logistics or requirements databases
- Strong stakeholder engagement and presentation skills
- The ability to work collaboratively across complex project environments
- Experience preparing technical artefacts, specifications and reports
- Defence acquisition or capability development experience will be highly regarded
- Aerospace or aviation program experience will be advantageous
