Landscape Gardener

Westgate Concreting Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Landscape Gardener to join our team. The successful applicant will undertake landscape construction and planting work, creating functional and attractive outdoor spaces in accordance with project plans and client requirements.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Interpret landscape plans, drawings and specifications to organise and carry out landscaping work.
• Assess site conditions, measure and mark out work areas, and prepare ground levels for landscape installation.
• Select suitable plants, soils, turf and landscaping materials according to project requirements.
• Prepare garden beds and planting areas, including soil improvement, fertilising and mulching.
• Plant trees, shrubs, hedges and other plants, and install appropriate supports and protection.
• Prepare lawn areas and establish lawns through turf laying or seeding.
• Construct landscape features, including paved pathways, garden edging, gravel areas and garden retaining structures, within applicable licensing requirements.
• Integrate planted areas with paved and concreted landscape features in coordination with other trades.
• Maintain newly established landscapes through watering, pruning, weeding and replacement planting where required.
• Calculate material quantities and coordinate deliveries and daily work activities with the site supervisor.
• Safely operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised worksite.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets project specifications and quality standards.

Skills and experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in landscape construction, horticulture or a related field
• Ability to carry out the physical requirements of outdoor landscaping work safely.
• Construction Induction White Card where required for site work.
