Senior Barber
- Consult with clients on hairstyles based on personal style and hair type.
- Cut, trim, and style hair for men and boys using various tools and techniques.
- Manage bookings and maintain salon cleanliness and safety standards.
One of our clients, Supercuts Premium, based in Menton, VIC needs an experienced and skilled Barber for Senior Barber position at their Mentone shop.
Eligibility Criteria:
• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV
• At least 5 years’ or more experience as Barber
• Should have full-time working rights or valid visa to work in Australia
Main Tasks:
• Consult with clients and advise them on what would look best for them based on their personal style and hair type and style.
• Cut, trim, and style hair for men and boys according to clients' instructions and/or current hairstyles, using clippers, razors, combs, hand-held blow driers or curling irons.
• Use of beauty products, hair shampoo and conditioners.
• Apply water, setting, straightening, or waving solutions to hair and use curlers, rollers, hot combs, and curling irons to press and to curl hair.
• colour, or straighten hair, using special chemical solutions and equipment.
• Analyse the facial features, hair, and unique needs of every client to determine and recommend treatments for the hair and face.
• Demonstrate your hair styling prowess by keeping up with current trends.
• Men grooming including Shaving and trimming beards and moustaches.
• Encourage clients to take better care of their hair with hair products from the salon that are higher quality and make colour and style last longer.
• Adhere to Salon’s safety and cleanliness standards, clean and sanitize tools, equipment, and work environment, maintain the workplace area with OH & S policies.
• Managing bookings and welcoming clients into the store.
• Looking after and running the store when required.
• Sell haircare products and products for hair and scalp problems.
Skills and knowledge:
• As a Senior Barber, you will be competent and confident in all aspects of hairdressing including colouring, cutting and blow drying, possesses friendly personality, excellent customer service skills, great communication skills, creative, quick learner, well-groomed and well-presented.
• Skill in different hairdressing methods, including cutting, styling, and colouring.
• knowledge of hair and skin types, and how they react to chemicals such as colouring products.
• knowledge of health and hygiene regulations.
• You will demonstrate a passion for working and willing to work flexible hours in a friendly, supportive team in a happy and professional work environment.
Salary - $79,500 - $82,000 Plus super
