These are temporary casual roles to support our Christmas peak. Shifts are available between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Sunday, including weekends and public holidays (Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day). Shifts will vary in line with bookings, so we're looking for people who can adapt to a variety of shifts and schedules across this period. Shifts are not guaranteed beyond the end of the peak period.
What you’ll be doing:
- Daily kennel and yard cleaning to maintain a high standard of hygiene and safety
- Washing and caring for dogs
- Supporting general facility upkeep and cleanliness
- Health checks and general animal husbandry
- Supervising dogs and managing behaviours to support wellbeing and safety
- Providing exercise and enrichment to pets as needed
- Delivering friendly, professional service to pet owners
- Assisting on reception – booking management, enquiries, payments, retail sales
- Capturing and sharing photos/videos for pet owner updates
- Maintaining accurate records and updating booking systems
- Supporting your team to ensure the best outcomes for our furry guests
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience working or volunteering with animals is preferred
- Administrative/office experience preferred
- Drivers License
- Comfortable with physically demanding, hands-on cleaning tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
- Availability for weekend shifts and peak holiday periods
- Physically fit and comfortable working indoors and outdoors with pets of all sizes
- Confident communicator with a friendly, professional approach
- Reliable, positive team player who enjoys hands-on work
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions, policies and procedures
- Willingness to complete a lawful unpaid work trial shift (in line with Fair Work guidelines)
Please note: This is a physically active role that requires the ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, bend, kneel, and handle animals (up to 50kg). You must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, and comfortably interact with pets, team members, and customers.
