Overview:
PTS Professional Tree Services is an Adelaide-based tree care and arborist company providing services across South Australia.
We are looking for a full-time Tree Worker to join the team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for carrying out tree maintenance, pruning, tree removals, vegetation management, and transporting personnel, equipment, machinery, and green waste using heavy vehicles. The role requires the safe operation of trucks, wood chippers, chainsaws, elevated work platforms, and other arboriculture equipment while complying with Australian Work Health and Safety legislation and industry standards.
The employee will work as part of a professional arboriculture team delivering services for residential, commercial, government, utility, and infrastructure projects.
This position is a full-time ongoing position, based in Windsor Gardens, SA .
Main Tasks:
- Perform tree pruning, trimming, canopy reduction, thinning, and deadwood removal.
- Remove hazardous, damaged, diseased, or unwanted trees using approved arboricultural techniques.
- Assist qualified arborists with tree climbing, rigging, dismantling, and controlled lowering operations.
- Operate chainsaws, pole saws, hedge trimmers, stump grinders, wood chippers, and other specialised equipment.
- Conduct vegetation clearance around roads, powerlines, parks, commercial properties, and public spaces.
- Remove branches, logs, stumps, and green waste from work sites.
- Assist with emergency storm damage response and hazardous tree removal.
- Identify basic tree defects, decay, pests, diseases, and structural hazards.
- Maintain work sites in a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible condition.
Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:
-Certificate III in Arboriculture or equivalent.
-A minimum of 2 years’ work experience in tree work, vegetation management, landscaping, forestry, or arboriculture.
Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:
·Current unrestricted MR or HR driver's licence.
·Chainsaw ticket and operation experience.
·Ability to safely lift, carry, and handle heavy equipment.
·Ability to pass pre-employment medical assessments where required.
·Physically fit for manual labour.
·White Card (Construction Induction).
·Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence.
·First Aid and CPR Certificate.
·Traffic Management qualifications.
·Chemical handling accreditation.
·Loader, excavator, forklift licences.
Annual salary will be between $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
