  • Coordinate with various teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to standard.

Our client is a premium, family-owned Italian furniture manufacturer with a global footprint in luxury design. As the business grows its Australian operations, they're looking for a Commercial Design & Delivery Manager to lead the national Technical Design function and own the end-to-end delivery of commercial and complex projects, from tender through to design, production, installation and final defect close-out. Working closely with Sales, Operations, Finance and the manufacturing team overseas, you'll ensure every project is commercially sound, technically accurate and delivered to the standard the brand is known for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the national Technical Design team, setting priorities, workflows and standards.
  • Review tenders and project opportunities, identifying scope gaps, commercial risks and delivery constraints before commitments are made.
  • Own the administration of project contracts, including variations, extensions of time, progress claims and other contractual obligations.
  • Establish and maintain integrated project programmes covering design, production, freight, installation and defect rectification.
  • Liaise with the overseas production and technical teams to confirm requirements and manufacturing timelines.
  • Oversee installation planning and defect rectification through to final closure.
  • Appoint and manage installers, quantity surveyors, legal advisers and other third-party contractors.
  • Act as the key point of contact across Sales, Technical Design, Operations and Finance to keep projects commercially aligned and on track.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of showroom fit-outs and display updates, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes.

Skills & Experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, Construction Management or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering interior fit-out, joinery or construction projects across the full project lifecycle.
  • Strong project-planning capability, including programmes, critical paths and milestones.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and experience with contract-administration platforms such as Procore.
  • Solid experience in contract administration and commercial project management, including variations and progress claims.
  • Proven ability to lead a technical team and coordinate with clients, developers, architects, builders and international production teams.
