    Occupational Therapist – Full-time or Part-time

    Naturally Kids Allied Health

  • Townsville

$70,000–$100,000 plus superannuation, pro rata for part-time, depending on experience

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join the Naturally Kids team.

This position may be full-time or part-time, and we are open to hearing from both experienced therapists and newer clinicians who feel aligned with the way we work.

    About Naturally Kids

Naturally Kids is a paediatric occupational therapy practice supporting neurodivergent children and children with developmental differences to experience belonging and participate more fully in everyday life.

We provide relationship-centred, neurodiversity-affirming and nature-informed allied health services through individual therapy, parent and teacher support, regional outreach and a range of therapeutic groups.

Our groups are not simply an add-on to individual therapy. They are intentionally designed to give children opportunities to practise skills, build relationships and navigate real-life experiences in a supportive environment.

Some take place in the clinic. Others involve nature, games, movement, sport or shared interests.

Therapy here does not always look like therapy traditionally has.

    Our vision and values

Our vision is a world where all children, regardless of neurotype or ability, experience genuine belonging throughout their lives.

Our work is grounded in three values:

    • Connection: Building authentic relationships with children, families, colleagues and our community
    • Trust: Creating environments where people feel psychologically safe, respected and supported
    • Leadership: Acting with integrity, accountability, reflection and courage

These values shape how we work with children and families, and how we treat one another as a team.

    About the role

You will work collaboratively with children, families, educators and other members of our team to provide neuroaffirming, evidence-informed occupational therapy.

Depending on your interests and experience, your work may include:

    • Individual occupational therapy
    • Therapeutic groups
    • Parent and teacher coaching
    • Clinic, community and education-based appointments
    • Opportunities to participate in nature-based therapy
    • Regional outreach, if this is something that interests you
    • Supporting students or developing leadership responsibilities as your role grows

We are not looking for someone who already knows how to do everything we do.

We are looking for someone who is curious, reflective and willing to explore innovative ways of delivering therapy while remaining grounded in evidence, clinical reasoning and the needs of each child.

    About you

You may be a good fit for Naturally Kids if you:

    • Are an Occupational Therapist with, or eligible for, AHPRA registration
    • Genuinely enjoy working with children and their families
    • Practise in a neuroaffirming and strengths-based way
    • Value relationships, participation and belonging
    • Are open to facilitating groups and trying therapy beyond the traditional clinic-room model
    • Are thoughtful about your clinical practice and willing to keep learning
    • Enjoy collaborating with others while also being able to work independently
    • Are comfortable with playfulness, flexibility and the occasional bit of therapeutic chaos

Previous paediatric experience would be valuable, but alignment with our values, openness to learning and the way you relate to children, families and colleagues matter enormously to us.

You will also need, or be willing to obtain, the relevant checks and registrations required to work with children and NDIS participants.

What it means to work at Naturally Kids

We want every member of our team to feel:

Safe. Valued. Supported. Trusted. Connected. Able to grow professionally.

    For us, that means:

    • A salary of $70,000–$100,000 plus superannuation, pro rata for part-time, depending on experience
    • Regular supervision and mentoring
    • A generous professional development budget
    • Flexible working arrangements
    • Sustainable expectations and workloads
    • Administrative and allied health assistant support
    • Genuine opportunities to develop your clinical interests
    • A varied caseload and multiple ways to deliver therapy
    • A psychologically safe workplace where people can ask questions, share ideas and acknowledge when something has not gone to plan
    • A collaborative team that values trust, connection and belonging

We take our work seriously, but we do not believe that means taking ourselves seriously all the time.
