Carpenter – Portable Home Installations
- Install and finish prefabricated and expandable homes, including timber framing, trims and building components.
- Build timber decks, stairs, ramps and handrails, interpreting construction drawings and checking alignment and workmanship.
- Follow site safety procedures, work with a small crew and travel to projects in Victoria and interstate.
Join Portable Home Builders Australia as a full-time carpenter working on prefabricated and expandable home installations. The work includes on-site carpentry and finishing, as well as building decks, stairs, ramps and handrails across projects in Victoria and interstate.
Key responsibilities
* Interpret construction drawings and set out carpentry work to project specifications.
* Measure, cut, assemble and install timber framing, trims and other building components.
* Construct timber decks and access structures, including stairs, ramps and handrails.
* Work with the site crew to fit and finish prefabricated building components.
* Check levels, alignment and workmanship, and raise issues with the site supervisor.
* Follow site safety procedures and operate tools and equipment safely.
Requirements
* Relevant carpentry qualification or equivalent practical experience.
* Demonstrated site carpentry experience and the ability to read construction drawings.
* Current White Card and availability for interstate travel.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small site crew.
