Diesel Motor Mechanic

Custom Air Queensland is an established business 33 years strong, specialising in Design, Manufacture, Supply & Installation of Custom, Sleeper Cab Air Conditioning Systems & Customised Sleeper Cabin Fit outs. Our Queensland Fit Out facility is based in Wacol Brisbane.

We have several divisions that make up our company which cover Design, Metal Fabrication, Assembly, Painting, Installation & Upholstery.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and suitably experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team at Wacol QLD.

The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out mechanical servicing, repairs, maintenance and diagnostics on heavy vehicles, as well as assisting with air conditioning installations, custom cabin fit-outs and production/assembly work as required.

To be successful, the applicant will possess:

1. Relevant trade qualification as a Diesel Motor Mechanic / Motor Mechanic.
2. Minimum 4 years' relevant experience.
3. Strong diesel engine and mechanical knowledge.
4. Demonstrated experience working as a qualified mechanic, preferably in a heavy vehicle environment. Experience with mechanical repairs, servicing and fault diagnosis.
5. Automotive air conditioning experience an advantage.
6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
7. Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
8. Experience using hand tools, power tools and air-operated tooling.
9. Own tools an advantage.
10. Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
11. Clean and well-presented.
12. Willingness to learn and develop new skills.

A current Australian driver's licence is required. A truck/heavy vehicle licence is an advantage.
