Your new company
We are partnering with a well-regarded federal government agency to appoint a Director of Finance, leading the finance function within a purpose-driven organisation delivering critical outcomes nationally.This is a senior leadership role suited to a commercially minded finance executive who can operate at both strategic and operational levels, working closely with the executive to shape financial direction and performance.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Business Support, you will oversee all aspects of the finance function while acting as a key advisor to the executive leadership team.Responsibilities include:

Leading finance operations including budgeting, reporting, audit and compliance Providing strategic financial advice, forecasts and insights to support decision-making Driving cost recovery, pricing models and long-term financial sustainability initiatives Delivering high-quality financial reporting, analysis and performance insights Strengthening financial governance, controls and risk management frameworks Leading, mentoring and developing the finance team

What you'll need to succeed
You are an experienced senior finance leader with the ability to influence at executive level and operate within a complex, regulated environment.You will bring:CA or CPA qualification with significant senior finance leadership experienceStrong understanding of Australian Government financial frameworks, including the PGPA ActProven capability in financial strategy, planning, analysis and business partneringExperience providing high-level advice to executive stakeholdersStrong leadership skills with the ability to drive performance and continuous improvementExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement capability
