This hospital is approximately 550 km North of Brisbane and 100 km south-east of Rockhampton.

The hospital has the capacity for 29 bed medical/surgical ward (including palliative care), 14-bed gynaecology/maternity wards with four birthing suites, eight-bed paediatric ward and four-bed high dependency unit.
