EL1 Lead Investigator

About the Role: 
As the Team Leader, Investigations, you will lead a high-performing team delivering complex investigations that support the department's payment integrity and fraud response framework. You will provide strategic leadership, drive continuous improvement, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve quality investigative outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting a team delivering complex and sensitive investigations.
  • Overseeing case management, evidence collection, quality assurance, and reporting activities.
  • Developing team capability through contemporary investigative practices, tools, and techniques.
  • Promoting and strengthening the department's payment integrity and fraud response framework.
  • Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on investigation outcomes, risks, and emerging issues.
  • Implementing initiatives to improve investigative processes and operational effectiveness.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with partner agencies and key stakeholders.
  • Supporting operational activities, including occasional domestic travel and overnight stays.
