Your new company
An exciting opportunity exists to join a prominent Australian Government agency responsible for delivering programs and policies that strengthen Australia's economy, industrial capability and future investment landscape. Operating within a high-profile policy environment, this team works closely with senior government representatives, industry leaders and key stakeholders to influence major investment opportunities and strategic national priorities.

The position is offered initially as a 3-month labour hire engagement, with a strong likelihood of extension for up to a further 9 months, along with a competitive hourly rate.
Your new role
As a Director, you will provide leadership across a portfolio of complex policy and investment initiatives, guiding a team to deliver high-quality outcomes and informed advice to senior executives and government decision-makers.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the preparation of briefing materials, Cabinet documentation and ministerial submissions.
  • Overseeing multiple complex work streams and ensuring delivery within tight timeframes.
  • Supporting stakeholder negotiations and contributing to commercial, funding and investment arrangements.
  • Providing strategic analysis and advice on economic, policy and financial matters.
  • Developing strong collaborative relationships with Commonwealth agencies, state governments and industry partners.
  • Leading and mentoring multidisciplinary teams to achieve key government objectives.
  • Ensuring effective governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement across projects and programs.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • A strong background in Commonwealth Government policy development, implementation and strategic advice.
  • Proven experience preparing executive-level briefings, submissions and recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, consultation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership credentials with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Highly developed analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • The ability to interpret and communicate complex economic, financial or policy issues to diverse audiences.
  • Baseline security clearance

    Qualifications in economics, finance, law, public policy, commerce or a related discipline will be viewed favourably.
