Ampilatwatja Health Centre is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Remote Area Nurses (RANs) interested in current and future opportunities within our community-controlled Aboriginal health service.
Whether your expertise is in primary health care, emergency care, chronic disease management, women’s health, men’s health, child health, aged care or mental health, we’d like to hear from you.

What’s in it for you?
• $74.59 per hour ($145,450.50 p.a. based on a 37.5-hour week), plus superannuation
• Additional on-call and overtime payments
• 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster (equivalent to 13 weeks paid leave annually)

About Ampilatwatja Health Centre
Ampilatwatja Health Centre is a community-controlled Aboriginal health service located approximately 350 km north-east of Alice Springs.
Governed by local Traditional Owners, we provide comprehensive, culturally safe primary health care to more than 650 people living in Ampilatwatja and surrounding outstations. Our model of care focuses on prevention, early intervention and improving long-term health outcomes for the community.

About the Opportunity
As a Remote Area Nurse, you’ll enjoy a varied and rewarding scope of practice, including:
• Primary health care and health assessments
• Emergency assessment and stabilisation
• Chronic disease management
• Child, maternal and family health
• Health promotion and preventative care
• Outreach clinics to nearby outstations
• Care planning and coordination
• Participation in a rotating after-hours on-call roster

Current opportunities may suit nurses with experience or interest in:
• Primary Health Care
• Men’s Health
• Women’s Health
• Mental Health
• Chronic Disease Management
• Child and Family Health
• Emergency Care

About You
To be considered, you will have:
• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Previous remote, rural or emergency nursing experience (highly desirable)
• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to culturally safe care for Aboriginal communities
• Current Australian manual Driver Licence and be confident to drive on unsealed roads

The following are highly regarded:
• Remote Area Nurse experience or postgraduate primary health care studies
• REC, MEC, ALS or equivalent emergency qualifications
• Immunisation accreditation
• Mental health, men’s or women’s health or other specialist clinical experience
• Knowledge of Communicare and electronic clinical record systems
