Exploration Geologist

Austcorp Executive is partnering with a Mining & Exploration operator to recruit an Exploration Geologist. This person will be play a pivotal contribution role in the delivery  of the exploration programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist and coordinate with the planning and execution of exploration and resource definition drilling programs, working with contractors and field personnel.
• Undertake geological and structural mapping, field reconnaissance and geochemical sampling programs.
• Complete geological logging, core photography, core mark-up, sampling and sample dispatch activities.
• Implement and maintain appropriate sampling and QA/QC processes.
• Compile, validate and interpret geological, geochemical, geophysical and drilling data.
• Maintain accurate geological databases, GIS information and other technical records.
• Assist with the preparation of exploration reports, work programs, budgets and technical presentations.
• Please note: This is not a FIFO role; site work is based around exploration programs, which is ad/hoc and project specific. This would suit a person who wants the best of both worlds, who enjoys the site work when required and Perth based work when required to complement their work life balance.

Your experience and skillsets will include the following:

• Hands on exploration experience in commodities such as gold, copper, nickel or lithium mining.
• 2-5 years of Geology site experience ideally in the Exploration space.
• Australian exploration mining experience with hard-rock mining.
• Strong technical capability with experience using QGIS, Leapfrog.
• Proven ability to complete exploration programs end-to-end.
