Field Manager - REEF Network Infrastructure
- Deliver operations and maintenance services for telecommunications infrastructure.
- Coordinate fault response and network restoration activities.
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Help deliver essential operations and maintenance services that keep critical telecommunications infrastructure operating across Central Queensland.
Based in Mackay, you will support the reliability of the REEF fibre network, exchange facilities, transmission systems and power infrastructure. This is a hands-on, field-based role involving planned maintenance, fault response, network restoration and stakeholder coordination across a diverse asset portfolio.
Working largely autonomously, you will diagnose and coordinate the resolution of network and equipment faults, support third-party works, and supervise subcontractors where required. Due to the critical nature of the network, occasional after-hours response to service outages and faults will be required.

About the Role
As a Field Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of operations and maintenance activities across telecommunications infrastructure throughout the Mackay region. Key responsibilities include:
- Completing planned maintenance across fibre networks, exchange facilities, transmission equipment, generators, batteries, UPS systems and associated infrastructure
- Responding to faults, service outages, asset strikes and network restoration activities
- Diagnosing equipment and network faults and coordinating timely resolution
- Supporting BYDA enquiries and third-party works to protect network assets
- On occasion supervising subcontractors undertaking civil, hauling, fibre splicing and testing activities
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with contractual, regulatory and environmental requirements
- Building effective relationships with clients, stakeholders and internal teams

- Experience in telecommunications, utilities, critical infrastructure or field maintenance environments
- Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills

- A willingness to learn and develop technical skills across a diverse asset portfolio
Highly Regarded (we welcome your application if you do not posses the below):
- Fibre optic, transmission, exchange or carrier network infrastructure knowledge
- Exposure to Optical Transmission Systems, Ethernet/IP, SDH/PDH or DWDM technologies
- Understanding of DC power systems, batteries, UPS systems and standby generators
- Ability to review BYDA plans and utilise cable locating equipment
