FIFO Rail Project Engineer- Plainline and Civil

Reporting to the Project Lead, the Project Engineer will support the development and delivery of the rail renewal and civil program, providing leadership across the project lifecycle from work enabling and long-term planning through to execution, commissioning, and operational handover.

The Project Engineer will support the development and maintenance of the rail renewals and civil portfolio and five-year renewal outlook, ensuring alignment with asset management strategies, operational requirements, funding priorities, and network access constraints.

We're looking for a high-calibre individual who can integrate quickly into our team and contribute to the successful delivery of our project portfolio.

Experience/Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil | Rail) or equivalent
• Bachelor of Project or Construction Management or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years' experience delivering rail infrastructure, track construction, ballast renewal, and civil projects.
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects within a heavy haul mining railway environment.
• Experience with plainline renewal and civil programs on heavy haul rail networks.
• Proven experience in the planning, execution, and commissioning of railway infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Track renewals and ballast renewal methodologies.
  • Rail formation and civil infrastructure.
  • Slab track design/construction through car dumpers and TLO's
  • Rail possession planning and execution.
  • Contractor management and project controls.
• Strong background in the delivery of rail infrastructure projects, with experience in managing projects through study, design, and execution phases.
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects within a heavy haul mining railway environment.
• Experience with plainline renewal and civil programs on heavy haul rail networks.
• Proven experience in the planning, execution, and commissioning of railway infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Track renewals and ballast renewal methodologies.
  • Rail formation and civil infrastructure.
  • Slab track design/construction through car dumpers and TLO's
  • Rail possession planning and execution.
  • Contractor management and project controls.
• Advanced planning and scheduling capability.
• Demonstrated experience in contractor management, cost and budget management, and end-to-end project lifecycle management on rail networks.
• Construction White Card

Preferred

• Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification or equivalent PMBOK-based project management qualification.
• Microsoft Project certification or demonstrated advanced competency.
• Experience in SAP management and workflow.
