Financial Accountant

• Broad Financial Accountant contract role supporting year-end audit, month-end journals, reconciliations, BAS, GST and payroll accounting

• Inner West Sydney location, 5 days in office. Initial 3-month contract paying $50-60/hr + super, equivalent to $100-110K + super

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, your duties as Financial Accountant will include but are not limited to:

• Preparing and lodging BAS, GST and payroll tax returns, ensuring reporting is completed accurately and within required deadlines.

• Completing general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating variances and preparing month-end journals, accruals and adjustments.

• Supporting year-end audit requirements, preparing supporting schedules and documentation, and responding to queries from external auditors.

• Preparing board papers and monthly finance reporting packs, including financial results, variance commentary and supporting analysis for senior stakeholders.

• Accounting for payroll within the general ledger, completing payroll-related reconciliations and working closely with payroll stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting and resolution of discrepancies.

Your Background

To be considered for this Financial Accountant role, you will ideally meet the following criteria:

• Immediately available to start

• CA/CPA qualified or qualified by experience with strong confidence in a hands-on finance role

• Experience supporting audit and willingness to commit to a 3-month contract

• Experience with Dynamics Navision preferred but not essential

• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
