Your New CompanyOur client is a well-established national organisation operating within a complex government environment. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is an opportunity to join a respected organisation where financial leadership and sound stewardship are highly valued.
Your New RoleAs Financial Controller, you will be responsible for leading the organisation's financial control, reporting and compliance functions, ensuring the integrity of financial information and maintaining a best-practice governance framework. Leading a team of finance professionals, you will oversee financial accounting, statutory reporting, audit management, budgeting, forecasting, cash management and core finance operations.Working closely with the CFO and executive stakeholders, you will provide insightful financial analysis, support strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement across finance systems, controls and processes. This is a broad leadership role that combines hands-on financial controllership with strategic financial management.
What You'll Need to SucceedYou will be a CA or CPA qualified finance professional with a strong background in financial control, governance and technical accounting.Key requirements include:

Strong experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or senior financial reporting position. Deep understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting requirements. Demonstrated experience managing statutory reporting, audit, compliance, budgeting and forecasting processes. Proven ability to establish and maintain strong financial controls and governance frameworks. Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams. Candidates with financial controllership experience gained within government, regulatory bodies, statutory authorities or broader public sector organisations will be particularly well regarded. Experience supporting or leading finance transformation initiatives, including ERP implementations and process improvement projects, will also be viewed favourably.
