Formwork Carpenter – Full-Time Position

South Australia

Salary: $80,000-$95,000 per annum

MGL HERALD CONSTRUCTION PTY LTD is South Australia based construction company specialising in reinforcement and steel fixing services across the civil, residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors.

With an experienced team based in SA, MGL HERALD CONSTRUCTION PTY LTD has the capability and resources to deliver reinforcement works across major construction projects. Our services include groundworks reinforcement, suspended slab reinforcement, and reinforcement works for walls, capping beams and columns.

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis.

The Role

The successful candidate will undertake formwork carpentry and associated construction activities to support reinforced concrete works across our construction projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

·Read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications to determine formwork requirements.

·Set out, construct, install and dismantle formwork for concrete and reinforcement works.

·Construct formwork for foundations, footings, slabs, walls, columns, capping beams and other reinforced concrete structures.

·Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber, plywood and other formwork materials to required dimensions.

·Install and secure formwork systems, supports, props and bracing in accordance with construction drawings and project specifications.

·Work closely with steel fixers and other construction personnel to prepare formwork and reinforcement structures for concrete placement.

·Strip and dismantle formwork safely following completion of concrete works.

·Inspect completed formwork, identify defects and undertake necessary rectification prior to concrete placement.

·Operate and maintain carpentry hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely.

·Ensure work is completed accurately and in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.

·Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with WHS requirements, site procedures and company safety standards.

Minimum Requirements

·AQF Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent relevant qualification.

·Minimum 2 years of relevant carpentry/formwork experience.

·Construction White Card.

·Demonstrated experience in formwork and reinforced concrete construction.

·Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

·Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.

Desirable Skills

·Experience working on civil, commercial, residential or infrastructure construction projects.

·Experience with formwork for slabs, walls, columns, footings and other reinforced concrete structures.

·Strong measuring, setting-out and formwork assembly skills.

·Ability to work effectively alongside steel fixers and other construction trades.

·Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

·Physically fit and capable of performing manual construction duties.

·Valid driver's licence and reliable transport preferred.
