    We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Scrub Scout Nurse to join our Perioperative team on a full-time basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care are provided.

    As a Perioperative Registered Nurse - Scrub Scout your responsibilities will include:

    • Undertake peri-operative nursing care in accordance with legislation
    • Deliver evidence-based nursing care
    • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
    • Ensure patient and staff safety
    • Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and AINs to deliver patient care (RN only)
    • Proactively assess the operative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual / patient
    • Document into the patient's medical record objectively, clearly, concisely and timely using accepted abbreviations and terminology

    The hospital offers a range of specialties including cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery, general medicine, gynaecology and maternity, oncology, orthopaedics, urology and vascular surgery. Ashford Hospital has 9 operating theatres, 1 procedure room, 2 angiography labs, an emergency department, maternity services and a 24 bed level 3 critical care unit.

    About You

    • Relevant Post graduate qualification
    • Experienced Scrub scout Nurse with a minimum of 3 years
    • Previous leadership experience
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills
    • Excellent time management
    • Ability to lead staff in a manner that is encouraging, positive and supportive
    • Have initiative and keep abreast of developments relevant to the perioperative environment
