Hotel Maintenance Planner

PHG Hay Street Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and highly organised Hotel Maintenance Planner to join our hotel operations team in Perth.

This is a full-time position suitable for a candidate with strong experience in maintenance planning, facilities coordination, preventative maintenance scheduling, contractor coordination and asset management within a hotel, accommodation, commercial building or similar environment.

About the Role

As the Hotel Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities across the hotel property. You will work closely with hotel management, maintenance staff, external contractors and suppliers to ensure maintenance works are completed safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to hotel operations and guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

1. Plan, schedule and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities across the hotel property;
2. Prepare maintenance schedules for building services, plant, equipment, guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities;
3. Coordinate internal maintenance staff, external contractors and suppliers to ensure timely completion of maintenance works;
4. Monitor maintenance requests, prioritise tasks and follow up on outstanding work orders;
5. Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, inspection reports and compliance documentation;
6. Assist with planning maintenance budgets, parts requirements and contractor quotations;
7. Identify maintenance risks, recurring issues and opportunities to improve operational efficiency;
8. Coordinate maintenance works relating to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, lifts, kitchen equipment, guest room facilities and general building assets;
9. Ensure maintenance activities comply with workplace health and safety standards, hotel policies and relevant regulatory requirements;
10. Liaise with hotel management and operational departments to minimise disruption to guests and business operations;
11. Support asset lifecycle planning and recommend improvements to maintenance systems and procedures.

Skills and Experience Required

The successful candidate should have:

1. Relevant qualification in facilities management, engineering, building services, construction, maintenance planning or a related field; or equivalent relevant industry experience;
2. Previous experience in maintenance planning, facilities coordination, building maintenance or asset management;
3. Experience in a hotel, hospitality, accommodation, commercial building or similar environment will be highly regarded;
4. Strong organisational, planning and time management skills;
5. Ability to coordinate contractors, suppliers and internal maintenance teams;
6. Good understanding of preventative maintenance systems and work order management;
7. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with different departments;
8. Good computer literacy and ability to maintain accurate maintenance records;
9. Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements;
10. Ability to work under pressure and prioritise urgent maintenance matters.
