Conditions: Required experience to apply – the ICU HMO role at SCUPH is a senior registrar role. We require candidates to be PGY4+ minimum with at least 6-12 months ICU registrar and/or anaesthetics experience. Cardiothoracic experience is desired, not essential. There are two shifts available at SCUPH for ICU HMO cover: D 0800 – 2030 Monday to Sunday N 2000 – 0830 Monday to Sunday The role of the HMO (hospital medical officer) at the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital is to provide support to the VMOs (visiting medical officers), also referred to as Consultants or Specialists. The VMO’s are not always on site at SCUPH so the HMO onsite will be responsible for providing on site assessment and communicating with the VMO as needed. The ICU HMO is required to attend code blue calls and manage until the VMO arrives.
