Role Description/Criteria

About MacKillop College
MacKillop is a Catholic co-educational College in the Josephite tradition, inspired by the vision of St. Mary of the Cross MacKillop. We are committed to nurturing lifelong learners who engage authentically, embrace diversity, and strive for personal excellence in all aspects of life. As an innovative and future-focused College, MacKillop offers contemporary facilities, a dynamic curriculum, and comprehensive wellbeing programs designed to meet the diverse needs of approximately 1,820 students across Years 7–12.

About the roles
MacKillop is expanding the core music curriculum, creating new opportunities for students to extend their musical skills and develop a lifelong passion for music. This expansion provides an exciting opportunity for talented tutors to contribute to the continued growth and development of our music program.

Working in partnership with our College teachers to support the delivery of engaging and practical music classes, the Instrumental Music Tutors will work closely with students to develop their technical skills, musical understanding and confidence as performers. You will also provide individual or small group tutoring to share your expertise, creativity and encourage students to pursue their individual musical aspirations, while also learning how to perform collaboratively in our College ensembles.

We are seeking tutors who are enthusiastic about working with young people and who recognise and celebrate the individuality, strengths and diverse learning needs of every student. Through encouragement, patience and expert instruction, you will support students to develop their musical potential.

The successful applicants will demonstrate a high level of musicianship and expertise in their instrument, together with a genuine passion for inspiring young people through music. You will contribute positively to the College’s ensemble and performance program, support classroom music learning and work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team of music educators.
