Intermediate Bookkeeper
- Provide high-quality bookkeeping and accounting support across a portfolio of clients.
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
- Prepare BAS and IAS documentation and assist with GST compliance.
Our client is seeking an experienced Intermediate Bookkeeper to join their team and provide high-quality bookkeeping and accounting support across a portfolio of clients. This is a great opportunity for someone who is confident managing day-to-day accounts while maintaining accurate financial records. The position offers a salary of $70,000–$80,000 + superannuation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
- Processing accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
- Completing bank, credit card, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Preparing BAS and IAS documentation and assisting with GST compliance
- Assisting with month-end reporting and account preparation
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Liaising with clients and assisting accountants and managers
- Identifying discrepancies and investigating accounting issues
- Ensuring client work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
What you’ll need:
- 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and general accounting principles
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and reconciliations
- Sound knowledge of BAS, GST and Australian compliance requirements
- Experience with Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Confident communication and a professional approach to client service
- Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualifications are advantageous
