Kitchenhands & Cleaners

Location: Wacol, Brisbane

Hours: Various shifts across 7 days starting either 5 or 6am

Multiple positions available to work out of a government facility, paid blue card required / willing to obtain!

Kitchenhand Duties:

• Must have commercial kitchen experience - catering for large groups
• Assist in the preparation and provision of nutritious and varied meals to young persons and staff.
• Maintain a hygienic, safe and secure working environment, including cleanliness of work areas and kitchen equipment.
• Contribute to an effective system of stock control, e.g. recording and stock takes.
• Undertake administrative procedures in the food services area, including procedures for ordering, storing and distributing stores.

Cleaning Duties

• Must have commercial cleaning experience - servicing large public spaces
• Ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained in designated areas.
• Cleaning facilities including resident rooms, accommodation areas, public areas, toilets, offices and dining rooms etc.
• Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and participate in the infection control program.
• Experience using commercial or industrial cleaning products.
• Solid knowledge of cleaning products and safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
• Ensure all cleaning materials and equipment are securely stored and maintained in a condition suitable for next use.

Requirements to be considered:

• PAID BLUE CARD required - can wait for application as last resort
• Able to pass national criminal history check and full working rights
• High attention to detail with 5-star work standards.
• Good communication and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and manual handling.
