King of the Hills (KOTH) is the flagship operation of Vault Minerals Limited and one of the largest gold mines in Australia. Undergoing significant expansion, KOTH is nearing completion of a 7.5 million tonne per annum (Mtpa) processing plant (previously 5.2Mtpa), providing a solid platform for long-term production growth. This dynamic operation combines open-pit and underground mining, with exciting exploration activities driving the future. KOTH is located approximately 900 km northeast of Perth and 25 km north of Leonora, within the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenanace Supervisor, the LV Fitter is responsible for providing quality and timely preventative maintenance and repairs of the Light Vehicle Fleet and as required to ensure operational targets are met in a safe, environmentally compliant and efficient manner and all work carried out is aligned with Vault Minerals operation specific quality procedures and statutory regulations.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are completed to the highest standard.
- Support the efficient operation of the production facilities by providing reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge, expertise and practical application, to minimise down time and subsequent loss of production.
- Correct and/or report safety and environmental hazards when identified to mitigate risk and reduce the occurrence of incidents and/or injury by investigating and reporting.
- Perform quality fault finding to ensure accurate diagnosis of faults.
- Ensure that all required parts are included in a scope of works for future equipment repairs as Identified through maintenance tasks and inspections.
- Ensure all stock items used are booked out of the store.
- Prioritise and respond quickly to urgent breakdowns impacting production or safety.
About You
- Previous experience as an LV Fitter within mining operations, demonstrating extensive expertise in light vehicle maintenance and repair, supported by a recognised trade qualification in automotive mechanical technology, light vehicle maintenance or a related field.
- Sound diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
- Working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2020 the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
- Holds a High Risk Work (HRW) Licence (LF – Forklift)
- Hold a current WA Driver’s License (manual C Class)
