The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating maintenance activities, labour, contractors and equipment to support safe, reliable and efficient operations.

Working closely with site teams, operations and the broader maintenance function, the role will plan and prioritise maintenance requirements, allocate resources,

monitor asset availability and ensure work is completed to the required safety, quality and compliance standards.

The position plays a key role in improving equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime and supporting a consistent maintenance approach across the fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Drilling Operations Managers to establish, prioritise and deliver maintenance requirements across the fleet.
  • Plan and coordinate labour, contractors, parts and equipment to support scheduled maintenance, repairs and breakdown response.
  • Prepare and manage quotations, budgets, schedules and completion timeframes for planned maintenance activities and third-party work.
  • Provide timely technical support, advice and escalation during equipment breakdowns and critical maintenance events.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance programs in line with operational requirements, manufacturer recommendations and business objectives.
  • Plan and manage major repairs, component change-outs, equipment refurbishments and return-to-service activities.
  • Maintain accurate work orders, repair records, cost information and maintenance history within the approved maintenance management system.
  • Monitor outstanding defects, repair progress, asset availability and maintenance performance, escalating risks and delays where required.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are completed in accordance with safety, quality, environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Confirm employees and contractors have the required competencies, training, tools, information and resources to perform work safely and effectively.
  • Build effective working relationships with operations, site teams, suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve reliability, reduce downtime, control costs and standardise maintenance practices.
  • Communicate business priorities, policies, values and expectations consistently across the maintenance team.
  • Promote an accountable and collaborative team culture, encourage open communication and ensure feedback from the field is raised with management.
  • Work closely with the National Maintenance Manager and Regional Operations Manager to achieve agreed safety, operational and financial targets.

What We’re Looking For

  • Trade qualification: Heavy Diesel Fitter
  • Solid understanding of drill rigs (Sandvik preferred)
  • Knowledge of air compression, electrical & hydraulics
  • Confident with computer-based systems
  • HR Driver Licence (preferred)
  • Forklift Licence (preferred)
