Opportunity

This is an exciting and diverse opportunity to work locally with one of Australia’s largest, most technologically advanced processing plants! You’ll be joining a highly skilled team of Maintenance Fitters and work closely with other Maintenance tradespersons. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, your role will be to:

  • Perform comprehensive fault-finding and diagnostic assessments across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, low voltage electrical and robotics systems;
  • Conduct end-to-end fabrication and modification of replacement parts including use of lathes and mills;
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and deliver rapid repairs to reduce downtime;
  • Carry out repairs, replacements and adjustments on range of machinery from pumps to motors, conveyors and gearboxes;
  • Follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures, holding safety as the highest priority; and
  • Collaborate with other maintenance and production teams to support operations.

This position will work a rotating roster, provided approximately 10 weeks in advance. Shift start times will vary between 3:00am and 10:00pm.

What experience are we looking for?

This position is open to applications from skilled, qualified Fitters as well as current apprentices. As such, you will hold or will be working toward a minimum of Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting & Machining). To be successful, you will:

  • Have demonstrated experience in fault finding, root cause analysis and diagnostics;
  • Have exposure to manufacturing/industrial environments and heavy machinery;
  • Remain calm under pressure, working alongside a busy production setting; and
  • Possess high attention to safety, with knowledge of WHS practices and procedures.
