The Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join a well-established industrial services and textile processing facility in Sydney.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of plant equipment within a high-volume production environment. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, breakdown response, fault finding, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives that support daily operations.
This hands-on role is ideal for a trade-qualified Electrician or Maintenance Fitter with experience maintaining production equipment in industrial, manufacturing, processing, laundry, or automated environments.
While an Electrical Trade qualification is preferred, applications are welcomed from experienced Maintenance Fitters with strong mechanical maintenance experience and a proven track record in a production setting.
Please Note: Applicants performing electrical work must hold a current Unrestricted NSW Electrical Licence.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial processing and laundry equipment
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise operational downtime
• Maintain and repair conveyors, pumps, motors, boilers, dryers, washers, ironers and other processing equipment
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions
• Assist with installation, commissioning and upgrades of plant equipment
• Complete maintenance records and work orders accurately
• Support spare parts inventory management
• Participate in safety, quality and environmental initiatives
• Assist with continuous improvement, LEAN manufacturing and 5S activities
• Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment reliability and plant performance
• Liaise with external contractors and equipment suppliers when required

  
About YouEssential

• Trade qualification as an Electrician or Maintenance Fitter
• Current Unrestricted NSW Electrical Licence(Electrician applicants only)
• Previous industrial maintenance experience
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities
• Experience conducting preventative and corrective maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Full Australian working rights

Highly Regarded

• Experience within industrial laundry, manufacturing, FMCG, food processing, logistics, packaging,or automated production facilities
• Knowledge of conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatic systems and automated machinery
• PLC fault-finding experience
• Boiler or Steam Plant experience
• Forklift Licence
• Experience using CMMS maintenance systems
• Exposure to continuous improvement and LEAN methodologies
