Major Sales Assistant - Casual/ Seasonal

Job Duties/Essential Functions

• Provides and ensures prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers • Answers member questions, demonstrates merchandise, and explains features 
• Assists members in loading merchandise to cart 
• Maintains current knowledge of technology and trends of sales area merchandise 
• Communicates with Majors Supervisor regarding quantity, status, price, delivery, and promotion of merchandise • Follows merchandising standards and practices 
• Sets up, cleans, and maintains merchandise displays 
• Aligns and faces merchandise to front, collects, returns stray items, and stocks to maintain high merchandise levels • Reviews lists of items for Forklift Drivers to place in the aisles for stocking 
• Participates in merchandise moves 
• Checks and approves merchandise for member returns 
• Makes and checks accuracy of merchandise signs and marking 
• Clears debris from the sales floor and performs security lock-up 
• Follows proper Merchandising and general safety procedures and standards 
• Spots for Forklift Drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zone 
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary 
• Assists members in loading merch to cart and their vehicles 

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery  

• Computer, printer, sticker marking gun, pallet jack, step stool, diamond tester, case alarms, electronic merchandise, cameras, RF gun, cash register, table top/hand-held scanners, carts, flatbeds 

Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess)

Sales, Costco, or comparable experience  Strong customer service skills  

Knowledge of electronics, jewellery and  appliances
