Mechanic

Smart AVR, a part of AMA Group is a fast-growing national automotive diagnostics business specialising in mechanical repairs, advanced vehicle systems and modern automotive technology.

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a skilled Mechanic to join our team servicing Adelaide region. Workshop is based in Kilburn.

This is a hands-on role focused primarily on inspecting, diagnosing and repairing suspension, steering and driveline systems, along with general mechanical repairs and fault finding.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Inspecting, diagnosing and repairing suspension, steering and driveline systems to manufacturer standards
• Completing suspension and driveline repairs, including inspections, fault finding and component replacement
• Diagnosing, servicing and repairing automotive air-conditioning systems where licensed and required
• Using workshop equipment and diagnostic tools to identify mechanical faults accurately
• Carrying out general mechanical repairs and supporting diagnostic work as required
• Completing wheel-end, steering and underbody inspections and repairs
• Assisting with modern vehicle systems and diagnostic procedures where required
• Completing accurate job documentation and maintaining high standards of safety, quality and workmanship

About You

• Trade qualification as an Automotive Mechanic or Light Vehicle Technician
• Automotive air-conditioning licence is desirable but not essential
•  Proven experience inspecting, diagnosing and repairing suspension, steering and driveline systems
• Experience with general diagnostics and modern vehicle systems is advantageous, but specialist ADAS experience is not essential
• Confidence using standard workshop equipment and diagnostic tools
• Strong fault-finding, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• A team-focused approach, clear communication skills and a valid driver’s licence
