Medical Science Liaison – Obesity & Diabetes (QLD) State‑based role  | Leading global innovator in chronic disease care

Step into a high‑impact Pharmaceutical Medical Science Liaison role supporting obesity, diabetes and related chronic diseases across Queensland. As a trusted scientific expert, you’ll build peer‑to‑peer relationships with clinicians, drive scientific engagement, and strengthen the medical positioning of a world‑leading therapeutic portfolio.
  
About the Role As an MSL, you will be the medical leader in the field—advancing scientific understanding, supporting therapeutic strategies, and ensuring healthcare professionals have access to accurate, credible and timely medical information. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, CMR, MAPA and Global Medical Affairs to maximise scientific value and support patient outcomes.
  
Key Responsibilities

  • Scientific engagement — Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based medical communication to clinicians, diabetes educators, pharmacists and academic institutions.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration — Partner with Sales, Marketing, QM, CMR Development and Global Medical Affairs to support medical and scientific objectives.
  • Scientific platform management — Review and update scientific communication platforms bi‑monthly to ensure alignment across the medical team.
  • Customer engagement planning — Develop and execute tailored engagement plans to build advocacy and increase awareness of therapeutic attributes.
  • Insight generation — Capture field insights, competitive intelligence and clinical trends to inform medical strategy.
  • Compliance & reporting — Submit monthly reports covering customer interactions, field activities, competitive feedback and potential IIS opportunities.

  
About You You’re a scientifically credible communicator with strong therapeutic knowledge and the ability to build influential relationships across clinical networks. You have been on field as a pharmaceutical sales representative previously.
You will bring:

  • M.D, Pharm.D or Ph.D
  • 2+ years’ as a pharmaceutical representative 
  • Some success/exposure as an MSL 
  • Expertise in the cardiometabolic therapy area.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and strategic thinking capability
  • Excellent communication skills (digital and F2F)
  • Ability to manage multiple demands, tight deadlines and travel
  • Demonstrated cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement
