ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYAvenira is seeking a practical and safety-focused Mine Technician to support geology, survey and mining engineering activities. Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will work closely with Technical Services and Mining Operations.This hands-on role supports mining, ore control, production and planning through ore mark-ups, sampling, drone surveys, pit inspections, stockpile management and accurate data collection. Working across multiple technical disciplines, you will play an important role in ensuring reliable field information is collected and communicated to support safe and efficient mining operations.
ROSTER AND LOCATIONJoin the Technical Services team on a 14/14 FIFO roster and build broad field experience as this long-life operation is established.Points of hire include Darwin, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Brisbane, Townsville, Mt Isa and Cairns.Applicants from Tennant Creek and Mt Isa are particularly encouraged to apply.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Complete ore mark-ups, ore spotting and waste boundary identification. Conduct stockpile and blasthole sampling and maintain traceability. Support ore loss, dilution tracking and stockpile management. Complete daily drone surveys and support survey field activities. Support Mining Engineers, Surveyors and Geologists in the field. Support production reporting, reconciliation and technical data collection. Conduct pit inspections and communicate safety and operational issues. Maintain accurate sampling, survey, inspection and production records. Maintain Technical Services equipment, consumables and supplies. Work safely in active mining areas around heavy mobile equipment.
ABOUT YOU Experience in mining, resources, earthmoving or similar operations. Current Driver's Licence. Ability to work safely in an active open-pit environment. Strong attention to detail and accurate data collection. Good organisation and time management skills. Ability to follow technical instructions and procedures. Competent in Microsoft Office, data entry and new systems. Able to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Good communication and stakeholder skills.
