MRI Lead

North Tasmania has an exciting opportunity for an experienced MRI Radiographer to step into a MRI Lead role within one of our busy clinics, primarily St Luke's. This is a Full-Time position playing a key role in supporting clinical leadership, maintaining imaging excellence, and ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-focused MRI services. Part-time will be considered on application. 

This will be a Monday – Friday with regular business hours between 8am and 6pm, working a 38hr week, with participation on the on-call roster.  

Working closely with Radiologists, the Area Chief Radiographer and site leadership, you will lead by example while continuing to perform hands-on MRI scanning across a diverse and interesting case mix.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day clinical leadership for the MRI service
• Deliver high-quality MRI imaging in line with I-MED protocols and standards
• Support, mentor, and develop MRI radiography staff
• Promote a strong safety culture including radiation dose optimisation
• Assist with MRI protocol review and optimisation with Radiologists
• Support workflow efficiency and positive patient experiences
• Participate in quality assurance, accreditation, and continuous improvement
• Contribute to on-call, after-hours, and weekend rosters as required
   

About You

• AHPRA registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner
• Strong MRI experience with the ability to work independently
• Previous senior, leadership, or modality lead experience (desirable)
• Commitment to delivering patient-centred, high-quality care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
